Matt Magill
Matt Magill, the Los Angeles Dodgers 9th ranked prospect according to Baseball America going into the season, gets his third start of the season tonight against the Miami Marlins. He was brought up tue to the Dodgers numerous injuries to the pitching staff and was probably not ready to make his major league debut until later on in the season. Due to the Dodgers injuries, however, he gets some on the job training in the National League. His first two starts of the season have left him with no decisions and only 8 innings pitched. He has given up 7 earned runs, sports a 7.71 ERA with 9 strikeouts and he has battled control issues with 6 walks. He has shown major league ready pitches but as in real estate a lot of it is location, location, location. You have to be able to paint the black with all of your pitches and be able to command all of your pitches at any point in the count.
