The Dodgers Need Hitters

The Los Angeles Isotopes or the Albuquerque Dodgers need hitters. The Dodgers have been shutout in 5 of their last 7 games including a shutout sweep by the San Francisco Giants. I do not know if this kind of offensive futility has ever been achieved in baseball history. I was able to catch the Mets game last night and Dee Gordon and Elian Herrera bunting was about the hardest the Dodgers hit the ball all night long. Carlos Lee of the Houston Astros has been mentioned as a possible trade but he is only batting .290 with 5 homeruns and 29 RBI's as of this posting. He is not the answer. He is 36 years old, at the tail end of his career, and he is a defensive liability as well. The Dodgers do not even have much to offer in the way of trade material. James Loney has no value and all they have is some young arms in the minors. Hopefully the Dodgers will be getting all of their major pieces back soon and they can recapture the National League West.
